This Privacy Policy explains what GoodDev LLC ("we", "us") collects when you use the DataRecover Pro app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Our guiding principle is simple: the data you are recovering is yours and stays on your Mac.

The short version

The DataRecover Pro app processes your drives entirely on your own Mac. The names, paths, and contents of the files you scan, preview, recover, or repair are never uploaded to us or anyone else, and are never logged.

The only personal data we hold is what is needed to operate your account and license, described below.

What the app does NOT collect

When you scan, preview, recover, or repair files, all of that happens locally on your device. We do not receive, transmit, or store:

  • The contents of any file on your drives
  • File names, paths, or folder structures from scanned drives
  • Disk images or recovered data

What we do collect

To provide accounts, licensing, downloads, and support, we collect:

  • Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password (Argon2id).
  • Device data: identifiers and basic metadata (OS, app version) for the devices you activate under a license, so we can enforce device limits.
  • Network data: IP addresses, used transiently for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and security audit logging.
  • Billing data: subscription and license status. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card details.
  • Support data: the contents of emails you send us.

How we use it

  • To create and operate your account and license
  • To enforce device limits and issue entitlement tokens
  • To process payments and prevent fraud
  • To provide customer support
  • To secure our services and diagnose errors

Service providers

We share the limited data above only with processors that help us run the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
  • Resend — transactional email (verification, password reset, receipts).
  • Sentry — error monitoring; configured to scrub personal data.
  • Neon (PostgreSQL) and Fly.io — application database and hosting (United States).
  • Cloudflare R2 — hosting of app download files.

We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies

Our website uses strictly necessary, httpOnly cookies to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention

We keep account and license data for as long as your account is active. Security and audit logs are retained for a limited period. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@datarecoverpro.com.

Children

DataRecover Pro is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
